Terms and Conditions 2025

1) Registration forms

A learner may only start attending once his/her registration form has been completed and submitted, and the terms and conditions have been agreed to and signed. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that all details submitted are correct. Please inform us immediately if your cell phone number or email address changes. Registration is effective for the current year.

2) Cost

A registration fee of R200 per subject will be charged, no matter when your child registers (February – November). Grade 5 – 7 = R210 per learner, per hour for a group class Grade 8 & 9 = R230 per learner, per hour for a group class Grade 10, 11 & 12 = R260 per learner, per hour for a group class Individual Maths classes = R500 per hour Drop-in Rate (learners who are not registered) = R300 per learner, per hour for a group class.

3) Payment of accounts

Fees are payable upfront for the month before the first lesson of each month. Accounts not paid by the first lesson of the month will result in the learner’s classes being suspended. If a learner misses a lesson, for any reason whatsoever, the fees paid will be forfeited. If for some reason, we cancel a lesson, that lesson will be made up to you, or your account will be credited accordingly.

We would prefer EFT payments if possible. Please use your child's name and surname as a reference when making payment via EFT (no invoice numbers please). Unfortunately, payments with an invalid reference cannot be allocated to the correct account, and will be considered unpaid until the payment reference has been clarified.

Cash or card payments can be made at reception. Please do not deposit cash directly into our bank account.

Arrear accounts over 30 days, without prior arrangement, will be handed over to debt collectors.

All arrear accounts at the end of November will be handed over to debt collectors.

4) Test Revision Classes

A test revision class is an optional extra and will be charged for separately. A test revision class cannot replace the regular weekly class. Test revision classes that have been booked, and not attended, must still be paid for.

5) Exam Revision Sessions

When the exams start, regular weekly classes will be discontinued. They will be replaced with 2-hour exam revision sessions, which will take place shortly before the relevant exam. There will be two 2-hour sessions per exam. These sessions are compulsory unless you have given us 1 months’ written notice before the start of the exams.

6) Invoices and Statements

Invoices will be emailed to you around the 25th of each month for the following month’s lessons. Statements, reflecting payments that have been made and the amount owing, will be sent out just after the invoices. Please pay the amount shown on the STATEMENT. If there are any discrepancies on the statements, please contact us immediately.

7) Notice

Learners who leave, need to give 1 months’ written notice. Parents must let us know BEFORE the 20th of the month if lessons are to be discontinued at the end of that month. Once the invoice has been made out for the next month, you will be liable for that amount. If your child will not be attending the exam revision sessions, please notify us 1 month before the start of the exams. If you have not notified us, we will assume that your child will be attending all the exam revision sessions. Once the invoice for the exam revision sessions has been made out, you will be liable for that amount. If your child will not be continuing with lessons after the holidays, please notify us before the end of the term. Once the invoice has been made out for the first month of the next term, you will be liable for that amount.

8) Attendance and Punctuality

Classes start on time, so it is important that your child is punctual, or part of the lesson will be missed. Learners will be charged a minimum of 1 lesson per week for normal lessons and 4 hours revision for each exam. If a learner cannot attend a particular lesson, please contact us via WhatsApp to reschedule and book another class during that week (depending on availability). Lessons that fall on public holidays will be rescheduled for that week.

Please remember that every class is important. We ask that (if at all possible) learners should not miss a single lesson. Please see the proposed tuition weeks below.

9) Come prepared

Please ensure that your child arrives here with a book to write in, their stationery and their calculators. Each week we hand out notes, exercises etc., these should be filed for safe keeping and future reference.

10) Collecting your Child

It is important that you fetch your child promptly after their lessons, so that they do not stand alone outside waiting to be collected. Should this not be possible, learners may wait inside the building for their safety.

If you arrive late to fetch your child after the last class of the day, it will mean that a staff member must stay late to wait with your child, as we cannot leave them to wait alone. In this case, you will be charged a fee of R50 for every 15 mins a staff member waits with your child, which will be added to your next account.
